day trippin’ to santa barbara

July 11, 2012 | Snippets of Life | Comments

On Sunday we took a day trip to Santa Barbara. Zan and I are famous amongst our friends for our day trips. Before Romeo was born we would drive somewhere every weekend to get out of the city and enjoy the quaintness of smaller towns. In my opinion Santa Barbara is one of the most beautiful towns in California. The weather is mild, beaches are beautiful and the Spanish architecture and missions add charming character. We had lunch on the dock, shopped State street, stopped for ice cream at McConnell’s and took a walk along the gorgeous beach. It all sounds so pleasing and it was, but I have to admit it was also pretty stressful with the sweet infant son as we call him. He kind of gave us his fussiest behavior that day, which made our adventures a little more challenging than normal. It’s still worth it to enjoy a nice day out. Our weekly day trips have now turned into monthly day trips!

  • Thanks Kadee! I grew up in a small town as well and I miss it! I love the city, but I crave going to wine country or just getting out for a nice long drive. It’s so peaceful!!! I also love the little local shops and restaurants you can stumble upon!

I love that you make it a point to visit smaller towns. I’m fascinated by them. I came from a small town and really want to explore them across the country – I think you can find so much character there. Thanks for sharing your visit, looks gorgeous :)
