We spent Christmas in Turks and Caicos. I tried to bring a little holiday tradition to our villa and I made salted-caramel hot toddies Christmas morning. We also made a big Christmas breakfast and opened secret Santa gifts. I have to be honest, it felt like Christmas for about an hour and then we all went kayaking in 80 degree weather! We stayed in a villa with the most beautiful view on Providenciales, Chalk Sound….
I liked staying in a rented house rather than a resort because of the privacy and quietness. It was nice to walk outside and not see a single soul in the water or around the area. We had kayaks at the house, so my family would take them out every morning and explore the little islands in the bay. It was an easy drive to awesome beach bar shacks, where there was a never-ending supply of rum punch! We ordered quite a few of them and then relaxed in the most amazing beaches I’ve ever seen! Seriously, the color of water ranged from clear to turquoise to the most beautiful light royal blue and the sand was so soft, like white powdered sugar! The beaches are pretty surreal and very relaxing… well as relaxing as it gets with a sweet infant son! He did pretty well, but it’s still exhausting traveling with a baby. Romeo wasn’t a fan of the water at first. Hence the awesome picture of his first time in the ocean! Look at that face, it’s priceless! Poor guy had to wear a lime green rash guard around for the whole week too because he’s so fair and I wasn’t taking any chances of him getting burnt! Oh and because it’s winter, the selection for baby boy swimwear isn’t too cute! I’ll have more pictures tomorrow and a small list of the restaurants we visited.
